What was the workshop about?
"The everyday consumption and management of food, nutrition and health are increasingly influenced and mediated by digital technologies, ranging from online shopping to digital food activism.

Many of these digital food practices take place in seemingly private realms such as the home that are commonly difficult to access and study for researchers.
Yet, at the same time these private spaces become public to some extent as digitalisation affords new ways of relating with food and other eaters albeit through commercial platforms.
This socio-digital realm and its typical food practices including shopping, cooking and eating often seems too mundane to warrant close attention, and research focusing on the digitalisation of everyday discourses and practices around food, nutrition and health is still scarce.
Yet, given the pace at which digital technologies change and their growing reach and potential impact, scholarly analysis becomes ever more urgent.
Through the notion of digital foodscapes, the proposed workshop will bring together experts studying food and digitalisation to explore how everyday spaces, discourses and practices around food, nutrition and health are changing with and through digitalisation.
Through extensive open discussions, the workshop seeks to map the status quo and develop a research agenda for comprehensively studying everyday food, nutrition and health in the context of everyday digitalisation." - From Professor Laura M. König
